What should be left out in 2014?
Posted by
onI don't think we've seen a more fashionably passé year than 2014. Even if you're a fashion police, you must admit this year we had some wardrobe malfunction in the fashion department. Dressing for a formal setting or a business often becomes essential in your life, and doing it right can enhance your job performance and your associates’ conceit of you, you also stand a chance to get a promotion or hired for a job that you interview for.
Dressing appropriately is one of the little details that many people often disregard and view it as trivial. You actually get treated better when you dress well. I recall of a day I was called in for a presentation to a board of directors and I was in my best suit. I tried to swap my pay card but to my surprise there was no money in my account, some people witnessed this embarrassing moment and they actually offered to pay my bus ticket.it pays to look good as much as you are quite broke.
As much as fashion is a subjective issue and rules are meant to be broken, but there are certain things you cannot do without they just look better and they blend in quite well. These are some of the many mistakes we ought to leave out in 2014 and make 2015 a fashion year.
- Leave out the clothes that do not fit.
Baggy clothes do not give a good presentation they make you look like Bob the Builder. If your body does not fit the clothes off the rack then make your tailor your best friend.
- Never wear a short sleeve shirt with a tie.
I observed that men would wear short sleeves with ties, unless you work for a fast food joint avoid wearing short sleeve shirts with a tie, people perceive that as low class clothing. Long sleeved shirts make you look professional and confident.
- Wrong pants length
Don’t fold up your slacks unless you are making a deliberate fashion assurance. Your chinos can come down to the bottom of your shoes but ensure that they come above the floor to avoid any frazzle. Don’t allow your feet to swim in an extra fabric.
- Wrong socks with a suit
When you’re wearing a suit, match your socks color to your slacks not your shoes. If you’re wearing a grey suit with black shoes, wear grey socks. And when wearing a light suit, make sure the socks are darker than the suit.
- Wrong belt color
Make sure the color of your belt matches the color of your shoes. If your shoes are shiny, your belt should also be shiny. If you are wearing casual shoes or sneakers, make sure you wear a thicker casual belt to match instead of a thin belt.
- Don’t wear a tie that is a lighter color than the shirt or one that is made of synthetic material like polyester
We really cannot explain how people managed to be so brazen and careless with their wardrobes. They were probably trying to follow the latest fashion trends and so they end up looking ridiculous or perhaps they had fun in looking weird so as to attract attention. 2014 will go down in style history, but for all the wrong reasons.
